Judging by the toy catalogs that are beginning to pile up, holiday shopping is already underway. I’ve started to mentally compile Henry and Eleanor’s wish lists and suggestions for Santa (read: the grandmas). And with my birthday next week, I’ve had some fun thinking about what I would wish for, if money (and free time) were no object. So if you were in the mood to buy me a little something, here’s a handy guide:

an honest-to-goodness vacation with my husband that required airfare and passports
a week by myself at home with nothing to do but organize
a family vacation
Canon 5D Mark II
Canon Speedlight flash
Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L lens
Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens
Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L lens
Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L lens
unlimited photography lessons to learn my way around all that equipment
an iPad
a tummy tuck
Jon Hamm
free Birkenstocks and Keens and Danskos on demand
weekly spa trips

I know I can’t be the only one with materialistic fantasies. So tell me, what’s on YOUR wish list?

  1. I think you forgot chocolate in there.
And if you’re going super duper Mondo crazy, go for the 50mm 1.2 instead of the 50mm 1.4.

MANY of my wish list items would be the same. I would love a 5D Mark II. New living room furniture picked out by an interior designer. Breast lift. Personal barista.

  2. what the?? you don’t need a passport to come to portland! i promise, it’s the closest thing you’ll find to europe here in america. and the flight time is about the same.

    • Portland didn’t make this “dream” wish list because it’s on my “in reality going to really happen as soon as there’s $$ in my bank account” list. A trip to visit my sister is at the top of that list!

  3. Stopping by a fellow Hoosier blogger, who has already failed the NaBloMo challenge for November! (I’m blaming our internet outage, ok?).

Like you list. I’d claim several of those, too. (Except we’re a Nikon family, but I’m not a snob.)
I’d have to add to the list:
-A new, cherry wood kitchen, with a chef at my beck and call and a Jenn-Aire stove to make his life easier.
-My sewing room back all to myself and a lock on the door so my family keeps THEIR junk out!
-A saphire-studded silver bangle bracelet. No reason. Just want one.
-Endless cherry pie in my fridge.

Hope you have a good birthday!

  4. ooo… Let me see. I may only be able to get you four things on that list.

My list? Looks pretty much the same. I would include sky diving lessons, guitar lessons, a studio to do artwork in and the time to do it, a live in chef.

  5. -A personal organizer coming to my house and magically making everything organized!
-Unlimited decorating budget! My dream kitchen (for my husband to cook in!)

-And pretty much everything on your list – just change camera equipment to Nikon…ha-ha.

  6. Oh, and unlimited coffee shop visits for life!

  7. OH MY! You won’t believe this!
We have almost exactly the same Christmas list!
Except mine also includes platelets! :)

Hope you’re having a great week.

  8. I want an iphone. I want a new cannon camera. I want a new leather purse. I want leather boots by Born. I want a house keeper. I want a new tempurpedic bed. I want to magically lose 20 lbs.

    GIMME GIMME GIMME!
