I haven’t posted anything too housewife-y/mommyblogger-y in a while, so hey, want my playdough recipe?
I started making my own last year, and it’s easy, not to mention much much much better than the store-bought stuff.

1/2 cup salt
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 package Kool-Aid
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup boiling water

Mix the salt, flour, cream of tartar and Kool-Aid. Add the boiling water and vegetable oil and stir. Let it cool down for a few, then knead until it looks like playdough.

And that’s it! Now just get your kids set up and enhance their imagination and develop their fine motor skills buy yourself a half-hour to futz around on Facebook.

  1. That is super fun. I will remember this for VBS and Sunday School. And, perhaps, personal use.

    • You should make some for yourself–I play w/the kids’! And an unsolicited tip for making it for church: I made it for H & E’s preschool class, I quadrupled the recipe to make enough for 6 kids.
